Unstoppable together

                              The previous weekend spent in sunny Zadar was a truly eye-opening experience. I was exposed to a plethora of cultures as the volunteers at the midterm meeting were from different countries. I had the opportunity to get to know the other volunteers. Their experiences and personal stories were all very interesting and have nudged me to continue working on my volunteering journey. I feel this experience is a sort of treasure that I will carry with me in the future. I left the meeting feeling motivated, encouraged and inspired. I am excited to further improve the workshops I am leading in the Slava Raškaj Centre for Education, as well as continue developing several competences along the way. U utorak 12. travnja, 2022. godine u dvorištu našeg Centra održao se Uskrsni sajam. Uskrsni sajam započeo je u 10: 00h, gdje su se prodavali radovi naše Zadruge „Slavuji“. Naši korisnici Zadruge izrađivali su radove s Uskrsnim motivima. Također, Uskrsni sajam posjetili su i roditelji naših korisnika. Imali smo lijepo vrijeme gdje su se svi sudionici zabavljali. Atmosfera je bila ugodna i osjetilo se dobro raspoloženje i uskrsna euforija. This dish was prepared by our students in collaboration with our volunteer Khalil. I hope you like the prepared dish. prep time:20 MINUTES cook time:35 MINUTES total time:55 MINUTES   Ingredients • 1 tsp oil • 1 onion, diced • ½ lb chicken breast, diced (roughly one breast) • 1 ½ tsp coriander seed, ground • ¾ tsp cumin • ¾ tsp salt • ½ tsp caraway seed • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes • ¼ tsp black pepper • ¼ c water • 1 russet potato, peeled and diced • 8 eggs, beaten • 3 oz (3/4 c) Swiss cheese, grated (or other white cheese like Gruyere, Monterey Jack, Gouda, etc) • ½ c fresh parsley, chopped   Instructions Preheat the oven to 350 ⁰ F. In a large skillet, heat oil. Add diced onions and sauté over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes, until they begin to soften. Add diced chicken and spices.   Mix to combine. Kordinatorica projekta Brigita Jerić je započetak rekla nekoliko riječi o Europskim snagama solidarnosti. Europske snage solidarnosti su program u koji smo se mi kao   Centar za odgoj i obrazovanje uključili u zadnje tri godine  gdje se kroz različite aktivnosti uključuju volonteri iz Hrvatske i inozemstva. Volonteri rade na unaprijed osmišljenim aktivnostima koje se odnose na zero waste teme, podršku našim učenicima      koji imaju komunikacijske poteškoće, kreiranju  digitalni videoživotopisa koji su korisni za naše učenike  završnih razreda srednje škole  radi lakšeg uključivanja u zajednicu. Program uključuje različite teme, a strani volonteri koji dolaze kod nas   imaju osigurane uvijete stanovanja, zatim osigurana prehrana za sve volontere, te džeparac i podrška za obavljanje dnevnih aktivnosti u Centru.   Dear readers, On Friday, April 8, 2022, students of the Faculty of Social Work arrived at our Center to do their student internship with us. For a start, we met with them, and the program of work of the Center was presented by their mentors, social workers Brigita Jerić and Ivana Pupić. After a short introduction, we watched a short film about the Center for Education "Slave Raškaj", after which the students shared their impressions. Then Ivana Pupić gave a presentation on primary school which includes the difficulties that the Center deals with, how students come to the Center, what social services are offered in the Center, etc. Also, Brigita Jerić gave a presentation that included information on occupations in the school , how students enroll in school, about projects that have taken place and projects that are ongoing.
